GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK IRELAND
Ireland is already gearing up for a weeklong celebration of entrepreneurial activities, when it participates in Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2013.
Think Ireland Inc recently took part in a weeklong festival of entrepreneurship activities, brainstorming and topdown policy workshops at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2013, held in Rio De Jainero in March and hosted by Endeavor Brazil, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and the Kauffman Foundation. The Congress is a high impact annual event that brings together over 120 country hosts of GEW, welcoming inspiring business leaders, entrepreneurs and delegations driving entrepreneurship as well as thought leaders from Kauffman.
As hosts of GEW Ireland, , Think Ireland Inc aims to bring global thinking to a local audience. In rebuilding Ireland’s economy, start-ups play a crucial role. Jumpstarting an entrepreneurial society is key to Ireland’s future prosperity. Everyone that can be inspired to start a business plays a vital role in building Ireland’s economy for long term prosperity. But equally, we must have a clear strategy on helping the right companies to grow. This can be achieved through a national entrepreneurship strategy as the third pillar of enterprise policy. To continue the entrepreneurial movement and advance policy, research, innovation and entrepreneurship education, a new Foundation for Entrepreneurship is being established in Ireland. Think Ireland Inc already has partnered with Kauffman Global Partners Network and is building the Foundation for Entrepreneurship using global best practices.
This Year our core focus with GEW is going to be on Youth Entrepreneurship with thousands of young people taking part in activities across the country.
